You may be entitled to Centrelink payments to supplement your income. This is an Australian Government initiative to support you and your family. Eligible individuals may apply for JobSeeker Payment, which provides financial support during unemployment. Check eligibility and apply here.

 

MONEYSMART.GOV.AU

An Australian Government initiative, Moneysmart offers free tools, tips, and guidance to help you take control of your money and improve your financial wellbeing.

 

UPRISE SERVICES

Uprise offers multiple courses to help you use proven mindset skills to deal with thinking styles that drive financial worry and stress.

 

FINANCIAL COUNSELLING PROGRAM (VICTORIA)

The Financial Counselling Program is provided by community agencies to support financially disadvantaged and vulnerable Australians. You may be eligible for this if you have no income or are on a Centrelink benefit.

 

NSW GOVERNMENT (NEW SOUTH WALES)

Visit Service NSW to access financial and legal advice. Financial counsellors provide free, independent, and confidential advice.

 

ANGLICARE WA (WESTERN AUSTRALIA)

Access free financial counselling services through Anglicare WA. Financial      counselling is offered in partnership with the Financial Wellbeing Collective.

LINKEDIN PROFILE OPTIMISATION 

Make your LinkedIn profile stand out to potential employers. Get tips and tricks here.

FOR CITY-BASED APPLICATIONS 

For Melbourne, Sydney, or Perth based jobseekers, websites like Seek, Indeed, Workforce Australia and LinkedIn will be your go-to platforms to find and apply for new positions.  

  

FOR COUNTRY-BASED APPLICATIONS 

For regionally based jobseekers, SEEK is a valuable job-posting site to find positions tailored to your skillset. Additionally, you may find job openings posted in local Facebook groups of like-minded individuals.  

For more support, you may wish to register with a local recruitment agency, who can assist in finding a job that aligns with your experience. 

Workforce Australia: This service offers job search assistance, career coaching, and access to training programs to help with re-employment. Register for services at Workforce Australia.

UPRISE  

Uprise Services will be an available resource for 3 months after exit. We encourage you to prioritise your mental health during this transition. Sign up to Uprise, use access code outdooredugroup.eap .

HEADSPACE 

If you are 25 or under, Headspace provides free access to a range of online and face-to-face resources. Availability for visa holders may depend on location; reach out to your nearest Headspace office. 

 

BEYOND BLUE 

The NewAccess Program from Beyond Blue can provide up to 6 free counselling sessions to anyone (including visa holders), with no referral needed. Only available in select parts of New South Wales, including Moss Vale. 

 

LIFELINE

Provides 24/7 crisis support. Call 13 11 14 or visit Lifeline for more information.

FREE AND LOW-FEE TAFE COURSES 

Explore free and low-fee TAFE courses to upskill and enhance your career opportunities, helping you transition smoothly during redundancy.  

Australian and New Zealand citizens, as well as permanent residents may be eligible for fee-free and low-fee TAFE courses. 

Discover free and low-fee courses in Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia. 

An Employment Separation Certificate (ESC) is a document that will be provided by OEG once you have ceased work. ESCs are used to provide the Australian Government to assist in determining an individual’s eligibility for government benefits, such as Centrelink. 

Your ESC will outline if you have received any redundancy pay, including the amount and days covered, as well as the reason your employment ended.
