OUR BOARD
Board Chair, Charlotte Bisset
Charlotte (Charlie) Bisset has a passion for supporting people, organisations and communities to shape and reinforce their capabilities and capacities.
Charlie’s enthusiasm for the outdoors and the environment sees her currently employed in a senior management position within Parks Victoria. She has held positions as CEO of a NFP adult community education centre, Coordinator within Local Government, Primary and Secondary school teacher and Outdoor Education teacher and leader.
Charlie brings to the OEG Board extensive board director and governance experience and expertise, having served on numerous boards and committees for the past 15 years, both at local, regional and state levels, as well as serving on a local Government Council as a Councillor and Mayor.
Pre COVID, Charlie annually visited PNG, trek leading school groups on the Kokoda Track in memory of her grandfather who fought in the Kokoda Campaign.
Charlie lives in Alexandra with her husband (whom she met while they both worked at OEG) and 2 adult children.
Board Director, John Sloan
The Sloan family’s relationship with OEG began in 2005. Working closely with OEG we established the Alice Sloan Expedition which ran for 16 years and culminated in OEG being awarded the Best Outdoor Program 2022/23.
John volunteered to serve OEG as a Board Director because he believes that the important life lessons that shape us as individuals are learnt in the “rough water” of life and Outdoor Education “roughens up” the water, allowing for personal growth. It is vital that this continues.
John is currently the Managing Director of Victorian Community Living Pty Ltd (VCL), a support service for people living with an acquired brain injury (ABI), and also runs a golf course management business.
Board Director, John Stamp
John comes to us following a lifetime in the golf industry.
His connection with travel and the outdoors goes back to his childhood, when his family spent 12 months touring Europe by campervan. John also has a long association with the Victorian alps, especially the areas around Mt Stirling and Dargo, both as a walker and a horse rider.
John sees his own children’s experiences in camps and the outdoors as evidence that the work of OEG is of real value in building personal skills and capacities, as well as developing relationships with others.
