Child Safety & Wellbeing
We are committed to keeping children and young people safe
All children and young people have a right to feel safe at our sites and on our programs.

Our Approach
OEG’s approach to child safety is guided by the National Child Safe Principles. We believe all young people have a right to feel physically, socially, psychologically and culturally safe.
We offer unique challenges in novel environments, also recognising that a base of safety nurtures growth. We encourage young people to choose their level of challenge and speak up if they have concerns. Our training draws on a neurodevelopmental understanding of stress and resilience that prioritises predictability, choice and control.
Young people of all backgrounds and abilities have a right to feel safe and welcome at OEG. We work alongside our client schools, organisations, participants and caregivers before and during our programs to meet participants’ specific needs.

“During programs, The Outdoor Education Group have a high quality of care for students and school staff. OEG staff are aware of the needs of students, well informed about the program details, and take students and school staff through the process with clear communication to ensure all participants are adequately prepared for each activity and stage of a trip.
The Outdoor Education Group staff regularly check in with their supervisors and with school staff to ensure program needs are met and student concerns are being monitored and addressed where needed.”
